2010 Dear
AMCA Parents and Students, It is
indeed a pleasure to welcome all our returning students and our new students to
the 2010-2011 school year! The teachers and staff
are excited and look forward to sharing many academic experiences with our
students. Our focus will be on providing each child with new challenges
that will result in a rewarding school experience. As we partner with our
parents, we will work together for a rich and fruitful Catholic education for our students. I
am very excited to inform you of the following two new additions to our AMCA
faculty as well as the teacher assignments for this upcoming school year. Mr. Vincent
D’Accordo received a BA in Secondary Math Education and is
presently working towards a Masters in Secondary Math Education. He received his NYS Certification in Adolescent
Education/Mathematics (7-12). Ms. Carissa
Paese comes to us with a BS in Childhood Education with
a concentration in English. She has
also earned her Master’s Degree in Literacy for Birth to 6th
grade. As of September of 2010, she
will be

note the following important dates and times for the beginning of the school
year: Grades 1-8 The first day of school
will be Wednesday, September 8th. On
September 8th, 9th & 10th, all students in
Grades 1-8 should meet in the school gym wearing their school uniform at 9:00
am. Dismissal will be at 12:00 pm. Kindergarten The first day of school
will be Thursday, September 9th. On
September 9th, all Kindergarten students should meet in the school
gym wearing their school uniform at 9:30 am. Dismissal will be at 12:00 pm. September
10th: 9:00 am –
12:00 pm Grades K-8 will begin
their regular schedule on Monday, September 13th. The doors will open at 7:55 am, and all
students should meet in the school gym by 8:05 am. Please note that the new dismissal
time will be 2:30 pm. Pre-Kindergarten (4 years
old) The first day of school
will be Monday, September 13th. Monday,
September 13th - 9:30 am - 10:30 am Tuesday,
September 14th – 9:30 am – 11:30 am Wednesday,
September 15th Pre-K will begin their regular schedule: Half
Day Students: 8:05 am – 12:00
pm Full
Day Students: 8:05 am – 2:15
pm Nursery (3 years old) The first day of school
for the 3 Day Classes (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) will be on Wednesday,
September 15th. Morning
Class: 8:30-10:00 Afternoon
Class: 11:30-1:00 These
classes will also meet on Friday, September 17th at the same times
as above. The first day of school for
the 2 Day Class (Tuesday, Thursday) will be on Thursday, September 16th . This class will meet from
8:30 am to 10:00 am. The
Nursery Program will begin the regular schedule on Monday, September 20th. 3

Night: To
welcome all of our parents and answer any questions that you may have, we have
planned an Open School Night on Wednesday, September 8th at 7:00
pm in the school hall. I invite
you to come out, meet the faculty and staff and visit our school and
classrooms. Nursery &
Pre-Kindergarten Open House: There
will be an open house on Saturday, September
11 from 3:45 pm to 4:45 pm for all students and their parents. It will give you a chance to meet your
child’s teacher, visit the classroom and ask questions. Back-To-School
Parish/School Barbecue: To
celebrate the beginning of the new school year, all families are invited to
attend this event. It will take
place on Saturday, September 11th, in our school yard following the
5:00 pm Mass at Our Lady of Grace Church.
Extended Day Programs: Just
a reminder, this year AMCA will offer our school families both an Early Morning
Drop-Off Program as well as an After-School Program. Please contact the school if you would
like to find out more information about these programs. Once
again, welcome to the new school year. We will do all we can to make it a great
